If the Standing Senate Committee on Fisheries and Oceans recent announcement on lighthouse de-staffing were a report card, the Coast Guard would be getting an F.

Actually, not even an F, they would be expelled from school.

The committee's recommendation thoroughly and convincingly trashed Coast Guard plans to de-staff lighthouses. They not only completely wiped away the Coast Guard plans, they also implied that the Coast Guard decision was made without the least understanding of the issue.
