Members of the Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans will visit the Burin Peninsula Tuesday as part of the committee's ongoing study on lighthouses in this province. During their fact-finding activities senators intend to meet with regional representatives and local residents whose lives and livelihoods are impacted by lighthouse operations. There are concerns about heritage preservation and tourism perspectives. People like Captain Charlie Domineux, skipper of the St. Pierre ferry, have grave concerns about marine safety should Green Island be automated.
